Cookies policy
This page explains what we store on your device, why, and how the rules differ depending on where you are.
Your choice
In the UK, the EU/EEA and Switzerland, we set no analytics or advertising cookie until you accept one. If you reject, or simply ignore the banner, none are set.
Everywhere else, including Australia and the United States, analytics cookies are on by default and we show you a notice. You can turn them off at any time with the control below, and that choice is remembered.
Either way the site behaves exactly the same, and turning them off removes the ones already set.
What we set if you accept
One vendor only: the Meta pixel, from Meta Platforms. We use it to see which of our ads lead to a preorder, so we are not paying for advertising blind.
The pixel sets cookies in your browser (_fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from an ad) and tells Meta which pages you viewed on this site, whether you joined the waitlist, and whether you completed a preorder. Meta acts as an independent controller of that data under its own terms.
Where consent is required, the script is not loaded at all until you accept. We also send a copy of waitlist signups and completed orders to Meta from our own server, so that ad reporting still works when a browser blocks the pixel. Those server-side messages follow the same choice you made here: if you have not consented, nothing is sent.
We keep a record of the campaign that brought you here (the utm_ values and fbclid in the link you clicked) in a cookie named bread_attr, so we can tell which ad led to a signup or an order. It is set only when analytics are permitted.
What we set either way
Two cookies. bread_consent records the choice you made here so we do not ask again on every page; it stores nothing but that answer and lasts about six months. It is what makes your refusal stick, so it is set whichever way you choose. bread_country holds the two-letter country code your connection appears to come from, which is what decides whether we have to ask you first. It is never shared with anyone.
If you preorder, Stripe also sets cookies on its own checkout pages to process the payment and prevent fraud. Those are set by Stripe on Stripe's domain, not by us.
Changing your mind
Use the controls above at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as accepting, and takes effect immediately: the pixel stops loading and the cookies it had already set are deleted, along with the record of which ad brought you here. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings, which resets the question entirely.
